--Clarissa Pinkola Estes
“To win the wildish woman’s heart, a mate would understand her natural duality through and through. Anyone close to a wildish woman is in fact in the presence of two women; an outer being and an interior criatura, one who lives in the topside world, one who lives in the world not so easily seeable. The outer being lives by the light of day and is easily observed. She is often pragmatic, acculturated, and very human. The criatura, however, often travels to the surface from far away, often appearing and then as quickly disappearing, yet always leaving behind a feeling: something surprising, original, and knowing”

Your great mistake is to act the drama “Having a lover/friend who regards you as a living growing criatura, being, just as much as the tree from the ground, or a ficus in the house, or a rose garden out in the side yard... having a lover and friends who look at you as a true living breathing entity, one that is human but made of very fine and moist and magical things as well... a lover and friends who support the criatura in you... these are the people you are looking for. They will be the friends of your soul for life. Mindful choosing of friends and lovers, not to mention teachers, is critical to remaining conscious, remaining intuitive, remaining in charge of the fiery light that sees and knows.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
read this quote the other day from Ken McRae. it resonated deeply with me, so i thought i would share - Tantra dissolves the dichotomy of spiritual versus mundane; practitioners can entail every aspect of their daily lives into their spiritual growth process, seeking to realize the transcendent in the immanent. Tantric spiritual practices and rituals thus aim to bring about an inner realization of the truth that "Nothing exists that is not Divine," bringing freedom from ignorance and from the cycle of suffering (saṃsāra) in the process.
one of my favorite poems - enjoy. God Says Yes To Me
Kaylin Haught I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic and she said yes I asked her if it was okay to be short and she said it sure is I asked her if I could wear nail polish or not wear nail polish and she said honey she calls me that sometimes she said you can do just exactly what you want to Thanks God I said And is it even okay if I don't paragraph my letters Sweetcakes God said who knows where she picked that up what I'm telling you is Yes Yes Yes from The Palm of your Hand, 1995 Tilbury House Publishers came across this quote and had to share. shame takes us out of our natural rhythm and distances us from our true nature. would love to hear how you work with shame - where does it show up in your life? how can you transform this energy into something positive? We live in a world where most people still subscribe to the belief that shame is a good tool for keeping people in line. Not only is this wrong, but it's dangerous. Shame is highly correlated with addiction, violence, aggression, depression, eating disorders and bullying. Researchers don't find shame correlated with positive outcomes at all -- there are no data to support that shame is a helpful compass for good behavior. In fact, shame is much more likely to be the cause of destructive and hurtful behaviors than it is to be the solution. -- Brene Brown a late summer poem by Dana Faulds. enjoy - Sun Kissed The blown conch sounds
its low note. In the warm air, the fragrance of musk and lilac mingle. A wooden flute wraps its melody around me like silk. The time for dry austerities is past. I cast my robe aside, throw bare arms wide and let the sunlight have its way with me. Curves, softness, breath, beauty, movement, breasts seek the sun's embrace. A lifetime of shame lifts, burning away like morning mist. Adrift, the rising tide of passion takes me, and I do not wish to find the shore. |
